
A BRIEF PROFILE OF DHANSIRIPAR SUB-DIVISION
Dhansiripar sub-division consist of 21 recognised villages and around 8(eight) un-recognised villages. It has a total population of 20,359 (twenty thousand three hundred fifty nine) according to 2001 census. Major tribes of the sub-division consist of Dimasa, Kachari, Sema and Angami although other Naga tribes exist on minority. There are 12(Twelve) Sema villages, 7(seven) Dimasa Villages and 2(Two) Angami villages in the Sub-Division.
The river Dhansiri flows through out the Sub-Division from Manglumukh onwards forming a natural boundary with Assam. Once covered with lush green forests with fauna the area is now mostly cultivated paddy fields. Farming is the main occupation of the people of the area .
